Neil Defeo

Neil Defeo (b. 1989) is a self-taught artist from Marikina. He has won Grand Prize at the Vision Petron Awards in 2010 and 2016. His paintings in watercolor and oil explore topics that construct absurd environments, disrupt the consciousness, infiltrate reality, and imply parody of cultural and political figures. Defeo uses iconic references to strengthen a particular point about national identity to promote patriotism.
