“Enshrined Above” explores the mystique of what settles above and through the clouds. The air of mystery lingers as visual artist, Jefkin Bienes imagines celestial maidens settled above gentle clouds that wander across a peculiar atmosphere.

Inspired by oriental cultures, the exhibition merges tradition and enchantment, creating narratives of duality between the traditions of the earthly and heavenly. The candid faces of the women captivate the viewer with their imbibed grace and quiet strength. Bienes continues to develop his subject matters with the application of surrealism to his body of work, expanding his artistic vocabulary and rediscovering his individuality. The artist’s oeuvre encourages a contemplation on the beyond, returning to introspection, sifting through a myriad of sentiments and emotions, and eventually selecting the most valued and impactful to enshrine above a mortal body and achieve transcendence.
