By reminiscing across momentous experiences, one can distinguish which has greatly influenced the formation of one’s identity. The nostalgia that emanates from the artworks of visual artist, Charlie Yamson, seemingly attributes to particular facets which shape the overall disposition of one’s present individuality.

“Toon’s Day Out” unhinges humanity’s eclectic childhood through a visit along memory lane. With his subjects of beloved cartoon characters from Looney Tunes and Disney, the artist encourages the viewer to rediscover fragments of unpredictability and quirkiness through the animated ink drawings. Charlie makes use of a black-and-white monochromatic color scheme which highlights the essence of humor and satire in the wacky faces and actions of each character. Charlie and his artworks delve into interrelated personalities of both past and present, highlighting core memories that contribute to the development of one’s persona, a candid character during a spontaneous day out.
